<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuous collagen single fiber which is useful as a suture used in medical uses in living bodies, on the surfaces of living bodies, or the like, or is used for the production of various membranes, cloth-like articles, bag-like articles, or tubular articles for supply or prosthesis in a tissue engineering field or a regenerative medicine field, is not broken, when spun and then wound up on a roll, and does not cause the mutual adhesion of the fibers in a state wound on a roll. <P>SOLUTION: This method for producing the continuous collagen single fiber is characterized by dehydrating and coagulating fibrous collagen in a hydrophilic organic solvent having a water content of ≤ about 50% and then drying the collagen fiber in conditions comprising a relative humidity of ≤50% and a temperature of ≤ about 42°C. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
