<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a double-sided unit for an image forming apparatus, in which jamming processing operation is easily performed and secondary failure is prevented from occurring, and further, whose environmental load is small, and to provide an image forming apparatus equipped therewith. <P>SOLUTION: A guide plate 24, provided at the lower part of the double-sided unit 18, is energized by a tension spring 26 toward the body of the double-sided unit 18. When jamming occurs in the double-sided unit 18, a user performs jamming processing in the double-sided unit 18, while holding the guide plate 24 in an opened state with the user's held hand against the energizing force of the tension spring 26. When the jamming processing is finished, the user releases the user's hand, with which the guide plate 24 is held in the opened state, whereby the guide plate 24 is automatically restored to a closed state. A locking member 27, engaged with a projection for locking (not shown) provided on the body side of the double-sided unit 18, is installed at the upstream side end 24a of the guide plate 24. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
