PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a droplet ejection device which can reduce the visibility of streaked unevenness occurring due to differences in nozzle two-dimensional arrangement and in droplet ejection time lapse between adjacent dots, and to provide an image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: According to the droplet ejection device having a plurality of ejection heads (12M, 12LM) each having an ejection surface in which the nozzles are two-dimensionally arranged, at least the two ejection heads (12M, 12LM) are formed such that positions between nozzles (a position between M-16 and M-21 and a position between LM-16 and LM-21) at which a droplet ejection time lapse between adjacent dots in a main scanning direction differs from a droplet ejection time lapse between the other adjacent dots, are arranged so as to be shifted in the main scanning direction from each other, to thereby shorten a repetition period of occurrence of the streaked unevenness. Further a main scanning direction distance between the nozzles (between M-16 and M-21, etc.) is set shorter than a main scanning direction distance between the other nozzles.
