PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transportation container which supports a rolled article firmly and stably and can be reduced in height when not used. SOLUTION: The container comprises a lower container 1 and an upper container 11, and respective openings of both containers 1, 11 are put together to form a space in which the rolled article 30 is housed. The lower container 1 has first bearings 2 which bear both ends of the shaft 31 of the rolled article 30. Bearing members 20 are vertically erected inside the lower container 1 and the upper half of each bearing member 20 is made to project upward from the upper opening of the lower container 1. Second bearings 23, which bear both ends of the shaft 31, are formed on the bearing members 20. Third bearings 13, which bear both ends of the shaft 31 of the rolled article 30 born by the first/second bearings 3, 23 from above, are formed on the lower edges of the counter side walls 2 of the upper container 11, respectively. The lower/upper containers 1, 11 are, respectively, provided with supports 4, 14 which retain the erected state of the bearing members 20 from below and above, respectively.
