PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To diffuse foreign matter in a hydraulic control unit. SOLUTION: A pump 56 is operated and a booster linear valve 72 is switched into an open state. Operating fluid is sucked up and discharged form a reservoir 52 by the pump 56. The operating fluid discharged is returned to the reservoir 52 via the booster linear valve 72, master shut-off valves 29, 30 and a master cylinder 12. Foreign matter in the pump is diluted and diffused by passage of the operating fluid though the pump 56. It is possible in the hydraulic control unit to lessen a high concentration potion of the foreign matter and to disperse the foreign matter. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
