PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce fracture of a cross section of a pillar of a vehicle body side surface at side surface collision. SOLUTION: In the pillar erected along a rear edge of a door opening of the vehicle body side surface, a pillar inner panel 51 and a pillar reinforcement 52 having a hat shape cross section projected to the outside direction of the vehicle are made to a closed cross section structure by joining a front end edge and a rear end edge thereof. In the pillar 5 in which a front end edge of a quarter panel 6 is integrally joined to a front end joining edge, a rear end joining edge of a rear side surface 524 of the pillar reinforcement 52 and a ridge line of a corner part 525 where the rear side surface 524 and a front surface 523 are crossed are formed into a curved line expanding to a central side in a width direction of the pillar to strengthen rigidity relative to bending in a folding/superposing direction of the corner part 525.
