PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the injection unit moving device of an electric injection molding machine capable of inexpensively being constituted without complicating the apparatus constitution. SOLUTION: The injection unit moving device is equipped with a guide rail 2 for supporting an injection unit 1 on a fixed platen 8 so as to be possible to advance and retreat and an air cylinder mechanism comprising a rod, which connects the injection unit 1 and the fixed platen 8 so as to allow them to freely advance and retreat, and a cylinder. The rod is operated so as to be drawn in the cylinder to allow the injection unit 1 to advance toward the fixed platen and operated so as to be drawn out of the cylinder to allow the injection unit 1 to retreat from the fixed platen.
