PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the sheet discharger of a printer capable of eliminating a sheet retaining member 6, as a separate component, by utilizing one side of a paper guide as a sheet discharge plane for guiding a sheet in the discharging direction and using that paper guide in place of the sheet retaining member 6. SOLUTION: The paper guide 4 is provided with a sheet retaining part 41 for passing a sheet P in the sheet feed direction (a) while holding between the retaining part 41 and a sheet guide plane 3 on the front side of a sheet feed roller 1 at the intermediate position (A) in the back and forth direction of the sheet guide plane 3. The paper guide 4 is formed of a piece of resin plate having one side being utilized as a sheet discharge plane 42. An extension part 43 provided in the piece of plate is opposed to a sheet discharge roller 5 from below, and the sheet P riding on the sheet discharge plane 42 is brought into elastic contact with the lower part of the circumferential surface 51 of the sheet discharge roller 5 by elasticity of the piece of plate.
