PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fishing rod realizing a simply constituted, solid and easily attachable/detachable handle having a large diameter relative to a root rod having a small diameter and suitable for gripping. SOLUTION: This fishing rod is constituted by being equipped with a handle joint member 12 continuously installed with a handle-attaching part 123 formed with a larger diameter female screw 124 than that of a rod-fixing part 121 on the rod-fixing part 121 inserted and attached with the rear end part of the root rod 10 through a standing wall 122, covering a rear grip 15 on the outer circumference part of the rod-fixing part 121 of the handle joint member 12 in a state of attaching at the outside of the rear end part of the root rod 10 and selectively attaching a male screw 132(142) of a short handle 13 (or a long handle 14) to the female screw 124 of the handle-attaching part 123 of the handle joint member 12.
