摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve startability when restarting an engine, by adjusting a piston stopping position when automatically stopping the engine, to a range suitable for restarting the engine, in a multicylinder 4-cycle engine for setting a crank angle phase difference between cylinders to 90°CA. SOLUTION: The multicylinder 4-cycle engine is constituted so that a plurality of cylinders become the same stroke by setting the crank angle phase difference between the cylinders to 90°CA. The engine has an intake air flow rate adjusting means composed of a throttle valve 23 for adjusting a flow rate of intake air sucked in the respective cylinders of the engine, and an intake air flow rate control part 43 for controlling this intake air flow rate adjusting means. This intake air flow rate control part 43 controls the intake air flow rate adjusting means so that an intake air quantity relatively increases in the cylinder becoming a compression stroke later to the cylinder becoming the compression stroke first among two cylinders becoming the compression stroke when stopping the engine in the mutual cylinders adjacent in ignition order in automatic stopping operation of the engine.
