PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rental locker system which allows the user to unlock a locker box, based on a user ID by using cellular phones convenient in portability, and allows another consignee to take out baggage. SOLUTION: According to the rental locker system, a locker using application is downloaded from a server 20 to the cellular phones (A), (B). Then a user ID specific to the cellular phone (A) is set in the same, and a user ID specific to the cellular phone (B) is set in the same. When the baggage is put in the locker box, a central control unit 1 transmits an unlocking number and a box number to the cellular phone (A), and the unlocking number and the box number having a mail transfer flag added thereto are transmitted from the cellular phone (A) to the cellular phone (B) via e-mail. If the user ID of the cellular phone used at the time of unlocking does not coincide with the user ID of the cellular phone used when the baggage is put, unlocking is permitted only when the mail transfer flag is added to the unlocking number.
