The invention relates to a dental implant ( 1 ) comprising an anchoring head ( 2 ) for a structural part ( 15 ), and a screw element ( 3 ) having a thread root ( 8 ) and a self-cutting external thread ( 9 ). The thread root ( 8 ) and the external thread ( 9 ) form three succeeding sections from the crest to the apex, in which the outer diameters of the external thread ( 9 ) and the thread root ( 8 ) change in a specific manner.
