The motor is of electromagnetic configuration and has a very large ratio of diameter to active length of about 5:1 or greater, whereby parts of compound fiber material are used as supporting structural components. The electromagnetically active components only carry out their function in the magnetic circuit. The supporting structure of the rotating part is essentially annular and the interior can largely remain free.
