<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sewing machine with a reduced number of guide members, separate from a needle plate. <P>SOLUTION: In the sewing machine, the front edge of the needle plate 12 is a bobbin thread guide edge 35 located in the front of a bobbin thread passing slit 25. A connection slit 36 for connecting a bobbin take-out hole 10 and the front edge of the needle plate 12 is formed in the front of the needle plate 12. The side edge 36a on the bobbin thread guide edge 35 side projects in the direction opposite from the bobbin thread passing slit 25 from both left and right upper edges 25a of the bobbin thread passing slit 25 as seen from the front.
