PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition containing titanium dioxide particles each having a substantially sealing layer containing thermally decomposition-depositing metal oxide, and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: The substantially sealing layer has on its surface at least one organic surface-treating material selected from organosilanes, organosiloxanes, fluorosilanes, organic phosphonates, organic acid phosphates, organic pyrophosphates, organic polyphosphates, organic metaphosphates, organic phosphinates, organic sulfonic acid compounds, hydrocarbon-based carboxylic acids, hydrocarbon-based carboxylic acid-related esters, hydrocarbon-based carboxylic acid derivatives, hydrocarbon-based amides, low mol.wt. hydrocarbon waxes, low mol.wt. polyolefins, low mol.wt. polyolefin copolymers, hydrocarbon-based polyols, hydrocarbon-based polyol derivatives, alkanolamines, alkanolamine derivatives, organic dispersants, and their mixtures.
