摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce vertical crosstalk by making a gap between a pixel electrode and a signal line connected thereto narrower than that between the pixel electrode and a signal line adjacent thereto but not connected thereto. SOLUTION: In a liquid crystal device, a plurality of scanning lines are formed on a color filter substrate out of two substrates placed opposite to each other, a plurality of data lines and pixel electrodes are formed on an element substrate out of them and a liquid crystal is sealed in between both substrates. Besides, a plurality of TFD (thin film diode) elements with nonlinear current-voltage characteristics are arranged on the element substrate, and the respective TFD elements are connected to the corresponding respective pixel electrodes and the respective signal lines. Each of the pixel electrodes is formed in a state of being approximated to the data line side connected thereto as close as possible. Thereby the gap D2 between each of the pixel electrodes and the data line adjacent but not connected thereto is made wider than the gap D1 between each of the pixel electrodes and the data line connected thereto. Consequently, parasitic capacitance C2 produced between each of the pixel electrodes and the adjacent data line not connected thereto is made as small as possible. Thereby, voltage variation of the pixel electrodes due to the parasitic capacitance is suppressed and the vertical crosstalk is reduced. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
