PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cap holder and a manufacturing method for a joint wire capable of preventing the leakage of a filler seal material in a liquid form filling the inside of a cap and capable of improving the waterproof-work easiness or waterproof quality of the joint wire. SOLUTION: The cap holder is provided for holding an insulating cap in which a joint part formed by joining core wire portions of a plurality of sheathed wires, an insulating sheathing portion located near the joint part, and a filler seal material are provided, so that the filler seal material cannot leak to the outside. The cap holder comprises an energizing part 15 for elastically energizing one end of the insulating cap in the axial direction, and sealing parts 23, 32 that are located opposite to the energizing part 15 and close an opening of the other end of the insulating cap while allowing the sheathed wires to be led out through the opening. The energizing part 15 has a fitting part to be taper-fitted to the one end of the insulating cap 34. The cap holder further comprises a main body 12 having the energizing part 15 and one sealing part 23 divided, and a freely closeable door 25 that has the other sealing part 32 divided and that is provided to accommodate the insulating cap between the main body 12 and itself.
