The invention relates to an apparatus for preventing the sliding of construction machines (8). The apparatus comprises at least one spike (1) adapted for being mounted onto the construction machine (8) and for insertion into the ground where the machine (8) is positioned, the spike (1) being further adapted for being mounted on a driven element (6, 8) that is moveable in relation to the chassis. The spike (1) is adapted to be driven from a level above ground to a level below ground. A method of preventing sliding of construction machines (8) using the apparatus of the invention is also described. |
