The invention relates to a method for application of a thermally-insulating layer (11, 12, 13), or a metallic protective layer to a thermally-stressed component (200), made from a base material (10), for the elimination of loca l damage (14) or faults in the coating, whereby, in a first step, the local damage (14) or faulty positions are pre-treated and, in a second step, the layers (17, 18), required to eliminate the local damage (14) or faults, are applied. According to the invention, in such a method, a significantly improved lifespan of the treated component can be achieved, whereby, in the first step, the boundary regions (15) of the layers (11, 12, 13), terminatin g at the local damage (14) or fault, are machined such as to form evenly- sloping, stepped boundary regions (16). A pre-characterisation of the total coated regions of the operationally-stressed components or critical points b y means of FSECT permits a reduction in the risk of otherwise overlooked layer regions, the remaining lifespan of which would not meet the subsequent operating time.
|
