<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus and an image processing method which can acquire a legible image corrected in the tilt of a subject reflected to a photographed image, and to provide an image processing program or a recording medium recording its program. <P>SOLUTION: A tilt detecting unit 101 detects the tilting angle of a digital still camera 6 at imaging time from an Exif format image file, and calculates thereby the inclining angle of the subject 11 in a static image 10. A correction image forming unit 102 performs a tilt correction to rotate the static image 10 to cancel this tilt by dealing with the tilt of the subject 11 in the static image, and forms a correction image 12. A trimming region setting unit 103 sets a trimming region 13 which has a predetermined shape from the image display region of the correction image 12.
