PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of racemic theobroxide and non-racemic theobroxide which is simple and inexpensive and comprises a few steps. SOLUTION: The racemic theobroxide is synthesized by addition of singlet oxygen using a specified epoxycyclohexane structure and/or an arene oxide structure and is subsequently converted into an organic acid ester using a hydrolase, particularly preferably, after simplification of reaction points.
