VEHICLE BODY SEALING STRUCTURE FOR STEERING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealing structure not easily damaged and peeled off even if a shearing force is applied to a sealing member in a vehicle body sealing structure for a steering device for shielding a through hole in which a shaft for connecting a steering shaft and a steering mechanism is penetrated through a toeboard for partitioning the inside and outside of a cabin. SOLUTION: The vehicle body sealing structure 20 is constituted of a seal body 21 and a sealing material 22 and a shaft 13 is penetrated through a central part of the seal body 21 formed in an approximately cylindrical shape. At the end surface of the seal body 21, a flat surface 21a of which the approximately whole surface is a flat surface is formed and the sealing material 22 constituted of an elastic material such as sponge rubber and a synthetic resin sponge is adhered and fixed to the flat surface 21a with an adhesive. The sealing material 22 adhered and fixed to the seal body 21 is pressed and closely contacted with the periphery of the through hole 14a formed in the toeboard 14 by its elastic restoration force to seal the periphery of the through hole 14a of the toeboard 14.
