PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer which enables the effective utilization of a space without occupying too much space on a desk. SOLUTION: In this printer 100 for being used on the desk, a case 203 is formed in a wall-like vertical shape, and an area on the desk is spatially divided by making the case 203 serve as a partition. This makes the almost continuous area on the desk partitioned by the printer 100, so that a personal space of a user can be constructed and so that the space on the desk can be effectively utilized. Additionally, since only an upper end of paper P is exposed and the large part of the paper P remains inside the printer so that contents can be concealed, the contents are hardly known to other users.
