PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of enhancing accuracy of sheet feed while reducing the size, and capable of decreasing the number of components. SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus, bearing supports 2a, 2b and 3a, 3b of a feed roller 2 and a retaining roller 3 have a shaft diameter substantially identical to the outermost shaft diameter of the feed roller 2 and the retaining roller 3. A feed roller bearing 4a and a retaining roller bearing 5 have an opening, respectively, on the sides facing each other. The retaining roller bearing 5 has a part 5a for fixing a compression coil spring 7 formed integrally therewith. A frame 1 is provided with a portion 1e formed by raising a part thereof. The raised part 1e urges the compression coil spring 7 fixed to the spring fixing part 5a in the direction for pressing the retaining roller 3 against the feed roller 2 and supports the spring fixing part 5a. The feed roller bearing 4a includes a part 4b for regulating movement of the retaining roller bearing 5 along the sheet feed direction formed integrally therewith. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
