PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ink jet printer which can be shipped to each country with one kind of program with regard to some display language and in which a plurality of kinds of language can be displayed using an inexpensive small capacity recorder. SOLUTION: The ink jet printer comprises a display 8 of liquid crystal, or the like, and connectable with an external storage 7 storing a display language data program of a plurality of countries as a language being displayed on the display 8. An internal storage 4 capable of storing display language data as the storage area of the ink jet printer body is also provided. Furthermore, a circulation system is configured when the customer engineer of ink jet printer in each country has an external storage for the display language of its own country.
