PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically and accurately perform inspection of responsiveness of a liquid crystal television. SOLUTION: A photoelectric conversion element 2 converts optical output of an image of the liquid crystal television 1 into an electric signal and an A/D converter 4 converts the electric signal into a digital value. A trigger generator controls the timing to operate the A/D converter 4. The digital value converted by operation of the A/D converter 4 is stored in a memory 5. A computer 6 quantitatively and automatically computes quality judgment information of responsiveness of the liquid crystal television using the digital value stored in the memory 5 and displays the information on a display 7. The liquid crystal television 1 is made to display images switching a white image and a black image by a video signal generator 8 and the computer 6 extracts digital values at a part where the image display is changed from white to black, performs a straight line approximation using a least-squares method, calculates the slope of the obtained approximated straight line and quantitatively and automatically calculates quality information of the responsiveness of the liquid crystal television from the value of the slope.
