PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately judge quality of an article by image processing, since light is precluded from getting incident from an illumination means in other photographing position when photographed. SOLUTION: When the first sensor 14 detects an empty bottle 2 (101), a timing computation part 21 calculates the first residual pulse number, based on the first arrival pulse number and the first moving pulse number, and calculates the second residual pulse number, based on the second arrival pulse number and the second moving pulse number, when the second sensor 17 detects another empty bottle (102). When the first residual pulse number gets equal to the second residual pulse number as a comparison result(105), the timing computation part judges concurrent arrival of the two empty bottles to the first photographing position 15a and the second photographing position 18a, to be pulse-added to the first arrival pulse (106), and operates the first photographing means 15 and the first illumination means 16 (104), when the first residual pulse number comes to zero thereafter (103).
