PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a long material inspection apparatus of a simple and inexpensive structure capable of highly precisely and speedily inspecting various bends of long materials. SOLUTION: The apparatus 1 is provided with supporting means (a pair of supporting rollers 5) for supporting a long material with the inside of a right end part and left end part in the longitudinal direction of the long material as a fulcrum; measuring heads 25-27 movable along the longitudinal direction of the long material supported by the supporting means for measuring the outer diameter and/or axial height position of the long material; a data generating means (S3) for generating continuous data on the outer diameter and/or axial height position of the overall length of the longitudinal direction of the long material on basis of measurement results of the measuring heads; a bent amount computing means (S5) for computing a first amount of bent corresponding to the left end part of the long material, a second amount of bent corresponding to the right end part, and a third amount of bent corresponding to its center part on the basis of generation results of the data generating means; and a quality judging means (S6) for judging whether the long material is a conforming article or not on the basis of computation results of the bent amount computing means.
