The method involves regulating the output voltage (4) with a voltage regulator and dividing the regulation into at least two phases after a defined time, whereby the phases correspond to time intervals the output voltage is regulated and in a second phase in accordance with a temperature dependent or constant characteristic. In a first phase with a certain duration (X) the temperature is regulated according to an initial voltage characteristic determined at least depending on an initial temperature of the voltage regulator and/or an external temperature.
