<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical adhesive which is excellent in safety and reactivity (curing rate) and has excellent retention of adhesion. <P>SOLUTION: The medical adhesive is characterized by comprising: a hydrophilic urethane prepolymer (UP) obtained by reacting a fluorinated nonaromatic polyisocyanate ingredient (A) with a polyol ingredient (B) comprising a hydrophilic polyol (B1) as an essential component; and a phenolic radical scavenger (PRS). The (PRS) content is preferably 0.01-3 wt.% based on the (UP). The oxyethylene group content in the (B) is preferably 30-100 wt.% based on the oxyalkylene groups contained in the (B). The ingredient (B) preferably is a mixture of a product of the random coaddition of ethylene oxide and propylene oxide to a diol with polypropylene glycol. The adhesive is suitable for use in the bonding of biological tissues, especially ones of the lungs, arteries, and heart. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
