PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup apparatus which is manufactured so as to easily and surely match an optical axis of an imaging device with that of a mirror barrel. SOLUTION: The image pickup apparatus includes: an imaging device 20 connected to a substrate 19; a light-transmissible member 21 of which front and rear sides are formed in parallel; a light shielding sheet 22 wherein a frame-like portion 31 comprising a window hole 30 and a planar seat portion 32 are continuously formed; and a mirror barrel 24 formed with a step 44, on an inward flange 43 provided in a proximal end 42 at a substrate surface side 45, into which the light-transmissible member 21 is fitted so that the front and rear sides of the light-transmissible member 21 become perpendicular to an optical axis, and formed with a protruding portion 46 which is protruded from the proximal end 42 to surround the imaging device 20, lower than thickness of the imaging device 20. The light-transmissible member 21 is overlapped on the surface of the imaging device 20 through the light shielding sheet and the light-transmissible member 21 is fitted into the step 44 formed on the flange 43 of the mirror barrel 24 so that the front and rear sides of the light-transmissible member 21 can become perpendicular to the optical axis of the mirror barrel 24.
