PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology of generating a storage group by using group information having been set in advance to a switch 3.

SOLUTION: A storage group setting method disclosed herein includes: a group information acquisition step of acquiring group information of a computer 4 and a storage 5 set in advance to the switch 3 and storing the group information to a storage means 16; a node information acquisition step of acquiring node information required for connection to a network from each of the computer 4 and the storage 5 and storing the node information to the storage means 16; a group generating step of generating the storage group on the basis of the group information stored in the storage means 16; and a registration step for registering the generated storage group and the node information stored in the storage means 16 to a storage name resolution server 2.
