METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MEASURING BODY SHAPE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for measuring a body shape enabling rapid and accurate measurement of a body shape relating to the measurement of the body shape. SOLUTION: The apparatus for measuring a body shape has 24 to 32 horn antennas each including a high-frequency oscillating circuit and a demodulating circuit are provided on a ring-shaped elevating table 8; horizontal antennas and downward antennas are mainly arranged at the front surface side of the wearer's body; and the horizontal antennas and upward antennas are mainly arranged at the back face side of the wearer's body. The method for measuring body shape comprises the following process: subjecting demodulated signals to Fourier transform to obtain the distance between the human body and the apparatus while raising the elevating table; making the thus obtained distance within a prescribed range effective; interpolating points whose distance is not measured by using the distance obtained by respective antennas respectively toward different directions to estimate the body shape.
