PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for preventing stain, by which a stain-proofing agent is applied to the surfaces of cylindrical dryers, canvases, a calender roll, a breaker stack roll, etc., being traveling parts as uniformly as possible in the dry part of a paper machine. SOLUTION: The method for preventing stain of the dry part D of a paper machine comprises, in coating the surfaces of the traveling parts with a stain-proofing agent by spray nozzles (N1 and N2), using a plurality of the horizontally reciprocating spray nozzles so that the total of horizontally reciprocating movement width R of each spray nozzle becomes paper width w.
