PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photo-curable resin composition which has low curing contraction coefficient, good transparency, high heat resistance, low viscosity and good handleability, to provide a cationic photopolymerization initiator used for the photo-curable resin composition, to provide an adhesive which comprises the photo-curable resin composition and is used for display elements, and to provide a display element using the adhesive. SOLUTION: This photo-curable resin composition is characterized by comprising 100 pts.wt. of a cationically photopolymerizable compound having at least one functional group selected from the group consisting of epoxy group, oxetanyl group and vinyl ether group, 20 to 80 pts.wt. of an ortho spiro ester compound and/or a cyclic carbonate compound, and 0.05 to 20 pts.wt. of a photo cation polymerization initiator.
