A needle selector for knitting machines in which a working needle is selected using a piezoelectric having a piezoelectric element. Oscillation of the piezoelectric, supported movably on a housing, is stabilized by rotatably holding an intermediate position between the rear end part and the forward end part of the piezoelectric on the housing using a rotator. Cross-sectional structure of the rotator (3) in a plane perpendicular to the axis of the rotator (3) and to the plane of the piezoelectric is arranged such that the lateral curvature of the piezoelectric (2) becomes smaller than the longitudinal curvature. Consequently, a needle selector in which the oscillation speed and torque of the piezoelectric are enhanced significantly while saving energy can be provided.
