The invention relates to a tubular bag comprising a tubular bag body and a sealed-in bottom, particularly a standing bottom. The bottom is comprised of: a) a tubular section made of the same material as the tubular bag body; b) is placed in the tubular bag body while being tensioned, and; c) has a fin seal oriented in the direction of the tubular bag body. The invention also relates to a method for producing a tubular bag of the aforementioned type with the following steps: a) separating a tubular section (40) from the tube forming the tubular bag body (20); b) sealing an open end (90) of the tubular section (40) by means of a fin seal (50), and; c) placing the sealed tubular section end (80) into the tubular bag body (20), the sealed tubular section end (80) being oriented in the direction of the tubular bag body (20), and; d) sealing the edge (100) of the tubular section (40) with the edge (101) of the tubular bag body (20).
