The invention relates to a cathode ray tube provided with a colour selection frame/mask assembly suspended inside the surface prior to said tube by suspension means consisting of a first end portion provided with an orifice engaging around a slug which is fixed to the front face of the tube and a second end portion directly or indirectly welded to the frame, said welding being carried out on the surface of the second end portion in at least two distinct areas which are disposed in such a way that they form together with the orifice of the first end portion an acute angle which is greater than 10°. The inventive structure makes the tube less sensitive to mechanical vibrations.
