The method involves manufacturing a rivet from a coated wire (4) containing a phase with a precious metal and with a rivet core in the rivet casing forming a round compression. It involves striking a rivet from a coated wire whose core part experiences a compression during striking of the rivet. An independent claim is also included for a central electrode for an ignition plugs in rivet form.
