The method involves monitoring one of B channels that corresponds to an ISDN subscriber terminal, through an analysis of the allocated D channels by a switching device (1), and the presence of private connection. The switching device is provided at the network connection unit with a subscriber. The switching device is synchronously switched to a non-private direct connection for data transfer. An independent claim is also included for a device for transferring data in an ISDN network.
