GRAFT COPOLYMER AND RESIN COMPOSITIONS CONTAINING THE SAME

A thermoplastic resin excellent in the effect of improving flame retardance and impact resistance; and compositions containing the resin. Specifically, a polyorganosiloxane -containing graft copolymer obtained by adding 0.1 to 10 parts by weight of a grafting agent (C) to 30 to 94.9 parts by weight of a polyorganosiloxane (B) which is modified with a grafting agent (A) and takes the form of a latex to conduct a reaction, reacting the obtained product with 0 to 10 parts by weight of a mixture (F) containing a polyfunctional monomer having two or more polymerizable unsaturated bonds in the molecule, and then polymerizing 5 to 69.9 parts by weight of a vinyl monomer (G) in the presence of the resulting reaction mixture (with the proviso that the total of the components (B), (C), (F), and (G) is 100 parts by weight), characterized in that the grafting agent (C) is one which can attain a graft efficiency higher than that of the grafting agent (A); and resin compositions containing the graft copolymer.
