Normal red back light lamp means the driver is pushing the brake Pedal and the car is reducing speed. Normal white back light lamp means the driver is pushing the gas Pedal and the car is in reverse motion. These operations to make the following car aware of the status of the car, so they could understand faster the situation to have more time to react to prevent an accident.
