PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydraulic forming apparatus, which can promote the flowing-in of a material. SOLUTION: The hydraulic forming apparatus is applied to a preliminarily formed body 60 having flange portions 67, 68 formed by joining the peripheries of overlapped plates. The apparatus comprises a hydraulic pressure supplying means, first and second movable dies 120, 170, and driving means 125, 175. The hydraulic pressure supplying means applies hydraulic pressure to the inside of a preliminarily formed body 60 in order to expand it. The first and second movable dies 120, 170 grip the outside peripheral portions of the flange portions 67, 68. When the preliminarily formed body 60 is expanded by applying hydraulic pressure to the inside of the preliminarily formed body 60, the driving means 125, 175 move the first and second movable dies 120, 170 gripping the outside peripheral portions of the flange portions 67, 68 in the direction of flowing-in of the material due to the expansion.
