PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk reproducing unit for prohibiting key input, by allowing a user to specify keys other than minimum required ones while reproducing an optical disk. SOLUTION: A remote control image 21a is displayed on a display screen 200 by setup. Among keys other than keys for which the prohibition setting of key operation is disabled at the unit side or at the optical disk side in advance in the remote control image 21a, the part of a key whose input is prohibited during the reproduction of the optical disk is displayed, for example, in red, a key whose input should be prohibited is selected and specified by a user during the reproduction of the optical disk and the part of the specified key is displayed, for example, in blue, and the part of a key whose prohibition setting is disabled is displayed, for example, in green. By color-coding the key, the user can specify a key to be prohibited for setting by a key other than the minimum required keys, thus preventing key input against one's intention unexpectedly during the reproduction of an optical disk.
