PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease coefficient of friction of a sliding surface and simultaneously prevent seizure of the sliding surface in high-temperature state even in the case of high surface pressure state and high-temperature condition. SOLUTION: This sliding part is a relatively sliding part, in which 0.5 to 3 mass % sodium is contained in Cr stainless steel base metal, or 5 to 20 mass % copper and 0.5 to 3 mass % sodium are contained in it.
