PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation system for selecting an appropriate FM multiple broadcasting station of a VICS (vehicle information and communication system). SOLUTION: A CPU 1 reads a VICS station list for an area where the vehicle travels from a storage part 4 to set the VICS station list in a channel selection object in channel selection processing and determines whether to enter the receivable range of the VICS station beyond the boundary while traveling on a guided route. Unless the vehicle enters the receivable area, a channel is selected from the VICS station list for the area which is currently set and where the vehicle is traveling, and if the vehicle has entered the receivable area, the VICS station list for the area beyond the boundary is read from the storage part 4 to be a channel selection object in addition to the VICS station for the area which has already been set in a channel selection object and where the vehicle is traveling. Next, whether a guide distance to the boundary reaches a reception effective distance is determined. Unless the guide distance reaches the reception effective distance, a channel is selected from the VICS station list for the area where the vehicle is traveling, and if the guide distance reaches the reception effective distance, a channel is selected from VICS stations of the adjacent area more preferentially than channels of the area where the vehicle is traveling.
