The storage device (3) for bags or tube sections (8) which as a rule as fed to the device as a stack has at least two tiers in which the bags or tube sections are stored, a first transporting system for the moving of the bags or tube sections into the tiers, and a second transporting system for the feeding and leading away of bags or tube sections to and from the tiers. The first transporting system has endless revolving transporting elements in the form of conveyor belts with one allocated to each tier and installed on the bottom of the tier. An independent claim is included for a method for the storing of tube sections or bags by application of the proposed device.
