<p>This invention relates to methods of use for AMPA receptor potentiator compounds and pharmaceutical compositions in the prevention and treatment of cognitive impairment as a result of acute or chronic sleep deprivation, including enhancement of receptor functioning at synapses in brain networks responsible for higher order behaviors. A still further aspect of the present invention is the use of an active agent as described above for the preparation of a medicament for the treatment of a disorder as described above.</p>
