A projectile with an impact speed below 600 m/s comprises a sub-caliber penetrator core (6) with a cavity (13) containing an explosive charge (14) and with a fuze (15) with a time delay device (17). A delay time adjusted in the time delay device is set such that the explosive charge is fired while the penetrator core is within a wall (23) to be pierced. The delay time set in the device is 0.8-3.4 ms.
