A composition (A), containing higher alkyl (or acylaminoalkyl or acyloxyalkyl)-tri-(lower (hydroxy)alkyl)-ammonium salt(s) (I) and 5-12C polyhydric alcohol(s), has a (I) content (in ready-for-use form) of 60-90 wt. % and is in the form of pellets or flakes. Composition (A) containing quaternary ammonium salt(s) of formula (I) and 5-12C (preferably 6-8C) polyhydric alcohol(s) has (I) content when in ready-for-use form of 60-90 wt.% and is in the form of pellets or flakes. R 1= 12-36C alk(en)yl, (CH 2) n-NHC(O)R 5or (CH 2) n-C(O)OR 5; R 5= 12-36C alk(en)yl; n = 1-8; R 2-R 4= methyl, ethyl, n-propyl, n-butyl, CH 2CH 2OH or CH 2CH(OH)CH 2OH; and X ->= anion.
